Switched from a meter to just listening on a Whirlpool washer last week, and I'm not going back
Customer in Billings had a lid switch I swore was bad, meter read open, but I swapped in a spare and it still wouldn't spin, so I sat there and actually listened and heard the relay click but no drain, turned out to be a $12 hose kink behind the cabinet, and I'm wondering how many other guys trust the beep over their ears.

Read a study once saying techs miss sounds when focused on meters.
