Just realized a cardboard only system is way easier than I thought
For 2 years I was trying to compost with a fancy electric unit that kept breaking down and smelling weird. Switched to a simple 5 gallon bucket with a tight lid and only add cardboard scraps plus coffee grounds from my local shop. The cardboard soaks up moisture so there's no smell, and I just dump it at my mom's garden every 3 weeks. Anyone else skip the gadgets and keep it basic?

Ugh, tell me about it. I tried a fancy tumbler and it was just a pain to deal with. The cardboard bucket method is genius though, way less headache.

The 4-pack of those cheap plastic party cups from the dollar store works better than anything I've ever bought online. Total game changer honestly. @irisw73 you're right about the cardboard bucket too, I've used one from an old popcorn tin for like 3 years now and it's perfect. Just poke some holes in the bottom for drainage and you're set. No stupid lids to lose or fancy straws to clean lol.
