Hit 10 pounds of finished compost from my balcony bin and it felt like a win
I started a small worm bin under my kitchen sink back in February. For two months I just added scraps and forgot about it. Last week I finally sifted out the finished stuff and weighed it on my food scale. 10.2 pounds from just coffee grounds, egg shells, and veggie peels in a 5 gallon bucket. That felt pretty good for a one bedroom apartment setup. Has anyone else tracked how much they actually produce in a small space?

Oh wow that's awesome, congrats on the 10 pounds! Started mine around the same time actually, except I used a repurposed storage tote with holes drilled in the lid. Sifted through mine last weekend and got 8.7 pounds out of eggshells, banana peels, and those sad salad mixes I always forget about. The worms are doing so good I had to split them into two bins already. It's wild how much kitchen waste actually turns into something useful instead of just stinking up the trash.

Nah, I don't get the hype honestly. It's just dirt at the end of the day, not some life-changing breakthrough. Feels like a lot of work for something you could just toss in the green bin.
