Everyone says to watch the new seasonal hits first, but I started with a 90s OVA instead

My friends kept pushing me to watch the current top show, but I chose 'Memories' from 1995. The 'Magnetic Rose' segment had better atmosphere than anything I've seen this year. Anyone else skip the hype for older stuff?

I mean, is it really a big deal either way? You can watch the old OVA this week and the new hot show next week. It's just cartoons, not a life choice.

Honestly, I get where you're coming from, but I have to disagree. I tried watching a bunch of those older classics and a lot of them just feel so slow now. The new stuff has this crazy energy and the animation is so smooth. I feel like I'd miss out on the current conversation if I only watched old things.
