I read a report that said over 60% of false alarms come from user error, not system faults

I was looking at some industry data from the Security Industry Association last week. The report said more than 60% of all false dispatches are because people don't know how to use their own systems right. That's a huge number. It made me think we should spend more time teaching customers during the walk-through. Maybe even make a super simple one-page cheat sheet they can stick on the fridge. How do you guys handle customer training to cut down on those calls?

Yeah that 60% figure is rough. What kind of errors are they seeing most often? Like, is it people forgetting codes, or not knowing how to cancel a test alarm? The cheat sheet is a good start, but we need to know what to put on it.

Actually the cheat sheet is already done, just needs printing.

Remember that time @the_amy's cheat sheet saved me from a call? My neighbor set off his alarm cooking, and he just stared at the keypad. A simple guide right there would have fixed it in seconds. We really need to make those basics impossible to miss.
