Update: I just signed off my 1,000th annual inspection

Always thought it was just another logbook entry, but seeing that number made me realize how many aircraft I've kept flying safely. Anyone else get a weird sense of pride from a specific count like that?

My mechanic hit 500 oil changes last month and got the same look.

My dentist sees that look when I come in for my yearly cleaning. I'm basically funding his kid's college at this point.

Look at it from their side though. They went to school for years and have huge bills for the office and tools. That yearly cleaning keeps the lights on. Same deal with @the_olivia's mechanic. Those oil changes pay for his lift and his staff. We're not funding college, we're just paying for a service we need. They provide a skill we don't have. It's a fair trade, not a gift.
