Warning: My old way of checking for termite damage was costing me hours per job

Up until about eight months ago, I'd spend a good 45 minutes at each inspection crawling around with a flashlight and a screwdriver, tapping wood and looking for mud tubes. Now I use a thermal imaging camera paired with an AI app called 'TermiScan Pro' that my buddy in Phoenix told me about. The app analyzes the heat patterns the camera picks up and highlights potential problem zones in real time on my phone screen. It cut my inspection time down to maybe 15 minutes tops and I'm way more confident I'm not missing anything. Has anyone else in the field tried a setup like this, or found something better for pest inspections?

Man, I feel that. I was still using a moisture meter and a good old pick for way too long. My turning point was finding soft spots in a floor joist that looked totally fine from the outside. After that, I got a basic borescope camera that connects to my phone. I drill a tiny pilot hole in a suspect area and can actually see inside the wood. It's not as high-tech as your setup, but seeing the actual frass and damage firsthand changed the game for me. What's the learning curve like with the thermal imaging?

How steep was the learning curve for thermal imaging? It seems like you'd need to know what normal looks like before you can spot the weird stuff, which takes time. I bet it gets easier once you've seen a few problem areas for real.
