Screen freeze mid-lift has me thinking about crane control choices
Last week, I was using a crane with a full touch screen interface for a tricky lift. The screen went blank for just a second, and my heart jumped. I know some operators love these new setups, saying they are more precise and help with complex jobs. But I spent most of my career with cranes that have physical levers and dials, and I always felt more in control. You can feel the load through the lever, which lets you react faster sometimes. Other guys tell me I need to get with the times and embrace the digital stuff. So, what's your take? Are touch screens really better, or do we lose something important with all this tech?
