My first try at stacking Jupiter shots took me 12 hours to figure out

Got a clear night last week and took about 500 frames with my 8 inch scope. The stacking software kept crashing and I had to watch a bunch of old forum posts to fix it. What's the best free stacking tool for planets that won't eat a whole day?

My sauerkraut was way too salty, so I tried rinsing it with a splash of leftover pickle brine from a jar in the fridge. It actually worked and gave it a nice extra tang.

Man, isn't that the truth? I fought a cheap cast iron ASO for way too long before finding a decent used one. @jade271 is right, that first time you hit steel on a real anvil and it pushes back, it just changes everything. You stop fighting the tool and start actually moving metal. It feels like you gained ten years of skill in one afternoon.

Power tools are a lifesaver for that kind of work. My hands would be cramping up for days after a job like that.
