Tried a new pen for my weekly spread and it bled through three pages

I bought a cheap brush pen from the dollar store last week to try some new lettering. I tested it on a scrap page and it seemed fine, so I used it for my Monday header. The ink soaked right through that page, the next one, and even showed up on the third. Now I have ghosting on three future weekly logs. Anyone know a good brush pen that doesn't bleed on regular notebook paper?

Got a new hand grinder, a 1Zpresso J-Max. Every morning for four weeks, my pour-overs tasted either super sour or crazy bitter. I was using 18 grams of light roast, water at 205F, a 1:16 ratio... everything 'by the book'. The problem was the grind setting. I started at 2 full rotations, then tried every single click from 1.5 to 3.0. It took 32 separate brews to find the sweet spot at 2.3 rotations. My partner was about to stage an intervention. Anyone else have a grinder that was this finicky to get right? What was your magic number?

I was helping a friend with a dresser last week, and he was complaining about a gritty finish on the top. I asked if he wiped it down after sanding the sealer coat, and he just looked at me blank. He went straight to poly over a surface he'd sanded with 220 grit. I've seen this a few times now, even in some online videos. That fine dust just gets sealed in, and you can feel every little bit of it. It ruins the smooth feel you work so hard for. I keep a box of those cheap tack cloths from the hardware store right next to my sandpaper. One quick pass after sanding makes all the difference. Does anyone else have a different method for getting that last bit of dust off?
