You'd think these fancy compost gadgets would save the planet from your kitchen scraps. Instead, they just turn your apartment into a biohazard zone. My friend bought one and it started leaking brown juice after a week. The smell was like something died in a gym bag. Now they keep it on the balcony as a warning to neighbors. Some things are better left to the professionals.

Skip the indoor composters altogether. They often leak and stink up your place. Just take your scraps to a local drop-off spot.

My cousin bought one of those indoor composters last month. It promised to turn scraps into soil in days, but instead it just made a weird gurgling noise. After a few days, it leaked some nasty liquid all over his kitchen counter. The stink was like rotten eggs mixed with old fruit. He had to throw the whole thing out and open all the windows for a week. Now he says composting should stay outside where it belongs.
