Honestly, I used to stay up scrolling if I wasn't tired, but setting a firm 'lights out' time actually helped me fall asleep quicker.

Totally get that rebellion feeling! My brain treats any sleep rule I set as a personal challenge to stay up an extra hour. It's like, the moment I decide on a bedtime, I'm suddenly wide awake thinking about what snacks are in the kitchen. I'll just lie there, fully committed to this weird silent protest against my own good sense.

Sounds exactly like my brain's weird rebellion too. That internal clock just loves to sabotage any good plan I make.

Wait, you can actually just decide a time and stick to it. My brain would never let me. The second I say lights out it's like a signal to start thinking about everything I did in 2012. Setting a rule for myself never works. It feels like a challenge I have to rebel against.
