My outreach email blast was a total flop and now I question the hype

I kept hearing how sending personal emails is the best way to build links, so I gave it a real try last week. I picked 30 blogs in my niche and spent a whole day writing what I thought were friendly, helpful messages. By the end, I had crickets - not one single reply, let alone a link. It's funny because all the SEO forums make it sound like a sure thing if you just put in the work. But honestly, I'm starting to think this method is broken for small sites like mine. With everyone getting bombarded by pitches, maybe it's time to admit that cold outreach isn't the magic bullet. I've shifted to just improving my own content and hoping for organic shares, which feels slower but more honest. What's the point of hours spent on emails if they just get deleted? Maybe we need to stop pushing this as the go-to strategy.

Honestly maybe your pitch just needs work? Idk I've seen it work for others, maybe try a different subject line or follow up. Giving up after one try seems early.

Remember my friend sent a nearly perfect pitch and still got nothing back. He tweaked one line about the problem he solves and suddenly got three replies. Sometimes it really is just one small thing holding you back.

Test tiny changes, they can unlock everything.
