Writing a story set on a desert planet and I can't figure out how the settlers get water.
What are some good sci-fi ideas for water on dry planets?

On some exoplanets, they use vast fields of solar stills to extract water from the soil. If the atmosphere has trace moisture, atmospheric processors can condense it into drinkable water. For a more dramatic approach, settlers might melt polar ice caps with focused sunlight. It's all about working with what the planet gives you.

Proxima b folks drill deep to hit hot water underground. They pump it up and chill it for drinking. It's a brute force method, but it beats relying on dry air condensers.
