TIL why skipping a property walk-through is a huge risk

I bought a mountain cabin after only seeing online listings. My family trip there revealed foundation cracks and bad plumbing. Fixing it cost more than the down payment. Always visit and inspect any property yourself before buying. It could save you from a financial disaster.

Totally agree, pictures hide so much. My buddy bought a house without checking the attic and found a huge mold problem.

Last year, my friend bought a used car without a mechanic check. It needed a new transmission within a month, costing thousands. This rush to skip steps seems common now, with people trusting pictures over reality.

Seriously, I read a news piece about flipped houses having all kinds of hidden problems behind the fresh paint. They looked amazing in photos but were total messes up close. It's crazy what a picture won't show you.
