My recent dive into leather crafting showed me why budgets matter

I bought tools and materials without setting a spending limit. Now I'm scrambling to cover regular expenses, and it's a stressful lesson.

See, I've always found that setting a budget upfront kills the fun for me. When I jump into a new hobby, I'd rather spend what feels right and handle the mess later. It's a more real way to learn what you actually want. Yes, it hurts when the bills pile up, but that pain teaches you faster than any plan. I've blown my share of cash on projects that went nowhere, and those lessons stuck. Sometimes the stress is just part of the price of admission.

Blown my share of cash" is my middle name, my credit card still shudders.
