Unpopular opinion: Those early internet sand art clips felt more raw and satisfying
They were just someone filming their hands in real time, no cuts or filters. Now every video has perfect lighting and music that takes away from the moment. I miss when the messiness was part of the charm.

But you can actually see the art now. Those old clips were blurry, the sand was hard to make out, and your hand blocked half the shot. A clean video with good light means you focus on the shapes being made, not a shaky camera. A little music sets a mood instead of just hearing background noise. The craft got better, and showing it clearly is part of that.

Yeah, the part about "focus on the shapes being made" hits home. My friend Lena is a potter, and her early videos were just quick phone clips of her spinning clay, all blurry and zoomed in on her hands. When she got a simple tripod and filmed in better light, the comments totally changed. People stopped asking "how do you do that?" and started saying things like "the curve on that vase is so graceful.

My sister's makeup vids (phone shots) looked pro with ring light.
