Tried a new rust bluing solution that cost me a whole morning and a customer's patience.
I was working on a pre-war shotgun for a regular and decided to try a 'fast-acting' bluing compound I saw online for $60. It left a splotchy, uneven finish that I had to strip and redo with my old, slow method, making me miss the promised delivery date by two days. Has anyone else had a bad run-in with these quick-fix finishing products?

That "fast-acting" stuff reminds me of a cheap cold blue I tried once, total waste of time.

Cheap cold blues are the worst, they just leave you feeling foggy and tired. I had one that tasted like medicine and didn't even clear my head. It's like they promise a quick fix but just make the whole day drag on longer. What brand was that cheap one you tried?

My cousin swears by that brand and I have no idea why.
