A wonky fence mural near my place gave me layout ideas
I walk by this old fence every day on my way to grab groceries. Last week, someone painted a bright, messy mural on it with crazy shapes. At first I thought it was just random, but the way the colors and forms fit together caught my eye. I took a picture and later used it as a base for a flyer I was making for a friend. Juggling those odd shapes helped me break out of my usual grid pattern. My friend said the flyer looked unique and eye-catching. It's a tiny victory, but it made me happy to use something from my own street. Now I'm always looking at local stuff for new design sparks.

Sounds like you just copied someone else's work.

Ever accidentally make the exact same dumb mistake as someone else? I have a bad habit of independently coming up with the same terrible ideas. Guess that just makes me a copycat too, huh?
