That 18 inch level I carried for a decade was never actually level
After 10 years of trusting my old aluminum level on trim work, I used a friend's digital level on a job in Tulsa and found mine was off by a full degree. All those crown molding joints I thought were perfect were actually sloped just enough to notice if you ran a finger across them. Has anyone else had a basic tool fail them silently for years, and what finally exposed it?
