The shelf bracket that dropped 60 pounds of paint cans at 2 PM

I was in the middle of sorting old cans in my garage in Wichita last fall when the whole right side of my wall shelf just gave way. Turns out those plastic anchors from 15 years ago were never meant for that load, they were barely hanging on. Paint went everywhere, two cans split open, and I spent the next 4 hours scraping latex off my workbench and concrete. I ripped out every plastic anchor in the place and replaced them with toggle bolts rated for 75 pounds each. Has anyone else had a wall storage fail that made you redo your whole system from scratch?
