Warning: Reviewing a sunrise alarm clock fixed my morning grogginess

Always hit snooze for an hour. Tested one for a gadget site. Light wakes you up slow, no jarring noise. Stops the sleep inertia cold. Now I get up with the sun. Game changer for my day.

Does it really work if you're a deep sleeper? I tried one and the light part was nice, but I found I still needed a quiet alarm to go with it. The light by itself wasn't enough to pull me out of a really deep sleep. It did make the actual sound way less jarring, though, so there's that. I guess it's more of a helper than a full solution for some of us. Still better than just a blaring alarm clock.

For deep sleep, light sets the stage, @christopherstone, but sound's the star.

Yeah the light alone never does the trick for me either. I have to set a second gentle backup noise a few minutes later.
