A client's oak table went from cloudy to crystal clear after we switched to a different topcoat.

We used a water-based poly for the first two coats, but the final one was a solvent-based conversion varnish. The clarity difference after 48 hours of cure time was night and day. Anyone have a go-to product for that final glass-like finish on light woods?

That reminds me of a pine dresser I refinished years ago.

General Finishes Enduro-Var is my go-to for that final clear coat.

Go-to for that final clear coat" is such a perfect phrase. It's funny how we all find our one thing that just works and we stick to it forever, right? I see it everywhere, from the brand of coffee someone buys every single time to the exact tool they use for a job. People just want something reliable that won't let them down. Once you find that one product that does the job right, why would you ever try anything else?
