Shoutout to the client who asked for a 'quick logo tweak' that turned into a full brand guide
What started as a request to change a font color last Tuesday ended up taking me 14 hours over three days because they kept changing their mind on every single element, so has anyone else had a 'simple' task blow up like that?

Honestly, it's the "can you just" requests that get me. A friend once asked if I could "just" look at their website's slow loading time. Three days later I'm deep in their broken plugin code and expired hosting setup, explaining cacheing to them at midnight. That simple look turned into a full tech rescue mission.

My last "quick color update" turned into a 12 page PDF because they wanted to see every single shade of blue... I just send a flat quote for any change now, no more hourly.

My buddy who does freelance web stuff had a client ask him to "just add a contact form" to an old site. That turned into him rebuilding the whole back end because the original code was a total mess from like 2010. He spent a whole weekend just getting the thing to stop crashing before he could even start on the form. The client was shocked it took more than an hour. Some people have no idea how much work their "simple" fix actually is.
