My biggest client ghosted me right before a project deadline last month

I was two days from finishing a $2,500 website redesign when all communication stopped. No replies to emails or calls for a week. I had already done the work, so I sent a final invoice with a late fee and started looking for new leads the next day. It hurt my cash flow for March, but I learned not to rely on one client for so much income. Has anyone else had a client disappear like this, and how did you handle the money side?

Wow, ghosting you right before the finish line is a real power move! Sending that invoice with a late fee was the perfect level of petty, I love it. Honestly, treating it like a "stupid tax" they have to pay is the only way to feel better about the whole mess. At least now you've got a good story and a policy for next time!

Ghosting sucks but it's just business. You'll find better clients.
