My biggest client ghosted me right after I turned down a full-time job

I was at my desk in my apartment last Tuesday when the email came through. They just stopped replying to invoices and messages, no warning at all. This was 60% of my income gone overnight. I had to pull from my emergency fund and start cold emailing like crazy the next day. Has anyone else had a main client just vanish without a word?
