My coworker brought chili in a slow cooker for the crew today and it was a hit.

He plugged it in near the break area and it stayed warm all shift, perfect for grabbing a bowl between pours. It really beat the usual cold sandwiches and kept everyone going. How do you handle hot meals during those long, non-stop furnace days?

I understand that hot food "kept everyone going," but in my experience, a heavy meal like chili during a furnace day can really slow a person down. That warm, full feeling often leads to an energy crash an hour later. I've found lighter, room-temperature foods like wraps or pasta salad work better for sustained focus.

@the_xena, chili's protein and beans give long energy. That heat on a furnace day actually helps you dig in. Warm food keeps your mind sharp. Light wraps just leave me hungry by mid-afternoon.

Actually, chili doesn't crash me if it's not too heavy.
