I thought the new ceramic fiber blankets were just a pricey gimmick.
My foreman in Toledo insisted we try them for lining a furnace last spring, and they cut our repair downtime by almost half. I had to admit he was right when we ran the same job for three cycles without a single hot spot. What's one thing you were wrong about that actually worked out on the floor?

Same thing with those new high-temp gaskets. Thought they were overkill but they lasted way longer than the old ones. Saved us a ton of headaches on the press line.

Still blew the budget for a tiny bit more uptime though.

That "saved us a ton of headaches" part is so true. We switched to a pricier coolant for our old lathe and the tool life went way up. Stopped the constant adjustments.
