Serious question, has anyone else been to the old rail yard near the river?

I went there last Tuesday to look for old metal bits. The whole place is covered in these little plastic pellets, like the kind they use to make new stuff. They're in the dirt, stuck to old wood, everything. I tried to pick up a cool gear but it was half buried in them. It made me think twice about taking anything home. Do you guys clean stuff like that off first, or just avoid those spots now?

Yeah, those are probably nurdles. They're the raw plastic pellets that get melted down to make almost everything, and they spill during transport all the time. They're a huge mess for the environment because they soak up toxins and get eaten by wildlife. I'd avoid taking anything from a spot that's full of them, honestly. Cleaning them off seems like more trouble than it's worth and you don't want that dust or residue in your space.

Honestly, seeing all those pellets would make me think twice too, that's rough.
