Found a perfect piece of driftwood on the Oregon coast last month, spent three days cleaning it, and my cat knocked it off the shelf this morning.

Oh man, that's the worst kind of heartbreak. All that careful work just gone in a second. I had a similar thing with a ceramic bowl I made, spent weeks on it and my dog's tail just swept it right off the table. It's like they have a sixth sense for the things you value most. Makes you want to just glue everything down.

Did you manage to salvage any pieces of the bowl? Sometimes you can make something cool from the broken bits.

I mean, is it really that serious though? You spent weeks on it, sure, but it's a bowl. You can make another bowl. I've had things break before and honestly, half the time I get over it by the next day. It's not like it was a family heirloom or something irreplaceable. Dogs knock things over, it's what they do. Getting that torn up about a ceramic project feels like choosing to be upset.
