Honestly, my "cursed" doll was just full of dryer lint.

Had a similar scare with an old teddy bear. The stuffing had turned into this weird, hard clump that felt nothing like cotton. Took a seam ripper and carefully opened a back seam to check. Turns out it was just decades of dust and foam that had broken down into grit. Replaced it with new stuffing and sewed it back up. The doll is fine now, just needed a good clean-out.
