My uncle told me to never buy a VHS tape with a blank label
He said it was always just a recorded over mess, but I grabbed one from a bin in Toledo for 50 cents anyway. It had a perfect, unedited 1987 local news segment about a pie eating contest that got rained out. What's the best totally random thing you've found on a tape someone else gave up on?

My friend gave me a box of tapes he was going to throw out. One was just labeled "Garage." I figured it was junk, but it was two hours of his dad in 1992 trying to explain how a carburetor works to the family dog. The dog just stares at the camera, and his dad gets more and more frustrated. I still have it, and it's the funniest thing I own, but I'll never tell him I kept it.

Can you even imagine the look on his dad's face? That tape is pure gold, @walker.rowan, and you're right to keep it secret. Some things are just too good to share.
