The found family in 'The Locked Tomb' series felt way more real to me after book three
Honestly, I read Gideon the Ninth a couple years ago and thought the group was just a bunch of rivals stuck together. But after finishing Nona the Ninth last month, I saw a total shift. Over the three books, the characters went from trying to kill each other to basically being a messed-up, ride-or-die family. The big change happened because they kept surviving impossible, awful stuff together for what felt like years in their timeline. It made me think the best found families aren't the ones that start out nice, but the ones that earn it through shared trauma. Does a found family feel more real to you when they have to work for it, or when they just click right away?

Years in their timeline" wait, how long did that actually take them?

Honestly, I lost track of their timeline about three confusing time jumps ago. My brain just sort of gave up and accepted it. It's probably best not to think about it too hard.
