I bought a $40 box set of a show that was supposed to be a found family classic, but the characters never really clicked for me.

I kept waiting for that warm, chosen-family feeling to kick in over the first season, but it just felt like a bunch of people stuck in a room arguing, so now I've got these DVDs collecting dust.

Been there. My shelf has a whole section of box sets I bought because everyone said they were life-changing. They're basically expensive coasters now. I guess my taste in found family is just people who actually seem to like each other.

Real talk, that's the whole problem right there. People push stuff as life changing when it's just okay. Found family stories need actual warmth, not just characters forced together. Your coasters prove you tried though. Better luck next time.

Expensive coasters" is the realest review I've ever heard. My collection is basically a warning system for my wallet at this point.
