Am I the only one who had a client ask for cacti in a wedding bouquet?

This couple came in wanting succulents mixed with delicate peonies for their spring wedding. The groom kept joking about prickly situations, but the bride was dead serious about including sharp plants. I had to gently explain the risk of guests getting poked during hugs and dances. We settled on soft ferns and eucalyptus instead, which still gave that textured look without the ouch.

Why do people always pick style over safety at events?

Honestly, I was the same way for years, always putting looks first. Then my cousin's wedding had these spiky centerpieces that scratched a kid's arm. Seeing that crying child made me rethink everything. Safety isn't about killing fun, it's about protecting people. So when you talk about cacti in bouquets, I totally get why you warned them. A little prick can turn a happy dance into a trip to first aid. Now I believe comfort and safety should never be traded for a trendy idea.

Can I admit something? I used to only care about looks too, but now I get why safety matters.
