A bride in Portland asked for a bouquet with no roses because they reminded her of a bad breakup.

I had to design a $200 bridal bouquet using only peonies, ranunculus, and eucalyptus. It made me think about how much emotion we handle versus just making pretty arrangements. Do you ever feel more like a therapist than a florist?

Wow... that's heavy. So when you're putting that bouquet together, are you thinking about her ex, or trying to build something totally new for her? Feels like you're carrying the ghost of those roses while you work.

That's a really sharp point from @thompson.abby about carrying the ghost. When you're picking each stem, are you actively trying to make a new memory with the peonies, or just avoiding the old pain of the roses? The job becomes more about the meaning than the look.

Seriously, it's just flowers. @karent75 is overthinking it.
