My film choice disaster at the county fair

So I went to the fair last weekend and only had one roll left, a 36-exposure roll of Kodak Gold 200. I had to pick between shooting the whole thing on the rides at sunset or saving half for the animal barns and food stalls. I went all in on the rides, thinking the moving lights would look amazing. Big mistake. I forgot how slow that film is in fading light without a flash. My shots of the Ferris wheel are just dark blurs with a few weird light streaks. I got the roll back yesterday and my friend just said, 'What were you even aiming at?' Has anyone else totally misjudged the light with a film they thought they knew? I need better low-light tips for next time.

Classic case of overestimating the film.

Yeah, it's like everyone decided it was a masterpiece before the credits even rolled. The hype train left the station and nobody wanted to be the one to say it was just okay. Now we're all supposed to pretend we saw something deep that wasn't really there. Feels like a whole lot of people are trying to sound smart by loving it.

The director's last film got a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, so critics were primed to give this one a pass. You see a five star review and just assume it must be meaningful, even if you walked out confused. It creates this weird pressure to find depth in what might just be a pretty, empty movie.
