Rant: My kraut kept going bad until I clashed over jar sealing methods

Honestly, my last batch of sauerkraut got slimy and I was fed up. Some friends say you must use airlock lids to keep air out completely. Others swear by just burping the jar every day to let gases escape. I tried both ways, and the airlock stopped the slime, but burping felt more hands-on. Tbh, I figured out that airlocks work better for my busy schedule. What's your take, do you lock it down or trust the daily burp? Ngl, this whole thing has me rethinking my whole set-up.

Trust the airlock unless you enjoy babysitting your kraut like a needy pet.

Switched to airlocks after my last batch turned out weird. Now my kraut comes out right every time without the daily hassle.
