Forgot to burp my ginger beer bottles and now my kitchen is sticky!

Cleaning up exploded ginger beer from all my kitchen surfaces was not how I planned to spend my Saturday.

Ugh I feel that pain lol. Did the exact same thing with my first batch of kombucha, spent an hour picking scoby chunks off the ceiling. You really only make that mistake once.

Pro tip: burp your bottles daily for the first few days.

Seriously, how much pressure builds up in one little bottle? @alexw74 says to burp daily, but is that just overkill? I left a soda in the freezer once and it just made a mess in the ice box. It's ginger beer, not a science project. You'd think the bottle would just leak a little, not paint the walls. Maybe some bottles are just weaker than others.
