Read that cedar posts can last 30 years but treated pine might only get 15

Found it in an old extension service guide from the 90s. Does that still hold up with modern pressure treatments, or is that info outdated now?

Modern treatments are way better now.

Funny enough, that old guide reminds me of my neighbor's fence. He put in treated pine posts around 2005 and they're still solid, no rot at all. Makes you wonder if those old timelines were always a bit off, or if the chemicals just got a lot better. He swears he didn't do anything special to them either.
