Serious question, why are all the mannequins in the Dallas Galleria wearing the exact same shade of beige?

I was there last weekend and every single display window from Nordstrom to Neiman Marcus had this weird, flat, oatmeal-colored fabric on everything, which made me wonder if designers are just scared of color now.

Feels like they're trying to match the color of my soul after I spend three hours in that mall. My own wardrobe is basically fifty shades of sad beige anyway, so maybe they're just trying to make me feel seen.

Honestly, that mall lighting is a special kind of soul-sucking. It turns everyone the same weird shade of tired. Maybe the clothes are just trying to blend in with the environment, like camouflage for surviving a shopping trip. Your sad beige wardrobe might actually be a smart defense against all that fluorescent glare. They aren't making you feel seen, they're just copying the vibe of the place that drains your will to live. It's a whole mood, and that mood is exhausted.

Maybe they're all trying to hide from the perfume sprayers.
