Saw a dress at the Portland Art Museum that changed how I see color blocking

It was a 1960s Pierre Cardin piece, and the before photo from his sketchbook showed these big, simple shapes. The actual dress had these tiny, perfect seams that made the colors look like they were floating on the body, not just stuck on. I never knew that kind of stitching detail could make such a huge difference in how a design feels. Anyone have tips for learning that level of precision with fabric?

Honestly sounds like overthinking it to me. Good stitching is just good stitching, not some magic trick. People get way too deep about fashion details sometimes.

Details are what separate cheap clothes from quality ones. Stitching can change how a piece fits and lasts for years. Calling that overthinking just means you don't care about craftsmanship.
