Just wasted $80 on a fabric that looked great online but was totally wrong in person
I ordered this really cool textured linen blend for a jacket I'm sketching, but when it arrived it felt like stiff paper and the color was way more dull than the photos. I mean, it's basically unusable for what I wanted, so that's $80 down the drain. Has anyone else gotten burned by online fabric shopping and found a better way to check quality?

Ugh, that's the worst. Makes you wonder if they use special lights for the photos, right?

Totally feel your pain, that's such a rip-off. Happened to me with some "soft" wool that showed up feeling like a scratchy burlap sack. @mark_hernandez12 is right, it really can turn a good idea into a total mess. I've learned to only buy from places that send out free swatches first, even if you have to wait a bit longer. The tiny pictures online just never show the real feel or weight of the material.
