I finally ruined a silk shirt with the wrong interfacing

Had this olive green silk crepe I was gonna turn into a blouse for a client in Austin. Used a fusible interfacing rated for medium weight wovens without testing first. It bubbled up under the press cloth and left permanent ripples across the collar. I lost 2 yards of fabric that cost $45 a yard. Has anyone else had interfacing fail on you like this, or did I just grab the wrong type off the shelf?

Wait are people really paying $90/yard for silk these days? lol. Tbh that sounds more like a pressing issue than the interfacing being wrong, coulda saved it with a clapper and some steam.

Bubbled up under the press cloth" - sounds like a ghost in your iron, honestly. Maybe you just made a very fancy crispy shirt instead of a blouse.
