Honestly, a board member told me my quarterly updates were too long and it stung

He said 'Nina, we need the headlines, not the whole story' after a 45 minute review last month. I cut my slides from 20 to 5 and now lead with the three key metrics that need a decision. How do you all keep your exec updates sharp without missing critical details?

Yeah, leading with those key metrics is smart. I always put the "so what" right at the top so they know why they're looking at the numbers.

It's also good to know when to bury a metric if it's just noise.
