Warning: I stopped charging extra for extractions and my bookings went way up

For years I ran my little studio in Boise and I always added a $25 charge if someone needed a lot of extraction work during a facial. I thought it was fair for the extra time. Then last fall, a regular client flat out told me, 'I feel like I'm being punished for having clogged pores.' That hit me hard. So for three months, I made extraction part of my base facial price, no extra fee, and just built the time into my schedule. My booking rate jumped by almost 30% in that quarter. People stopped being scared to book for fear of an upcharge, and they started seeing real results over a series of visits instead of one expensive session. It changed how I talk about the service, too. Now I focus on the full treatment plan. Has anyone else tried a flat-rate model for problem-focused facials and seen a change?

That "punished for having clogged pores" line is the key, so building it into your base price was a smart move.

My buddy's barbershop saw a 40% repeat client bump after he stopped charging extra for beard trims. People just want to know the price upfront.
