PSA: Stop using those heavy clay-based masks on clients with reactive skin

I learned this the hard way after a client in Austin broke out in hives 10 minutes into a treatment last Tuesday - has anyone else noticed how many products still push these as 'detoxifying' when they're just stripping the barrier?

I read a study from one of the dermatology journals that said these clay masks can actually cause more irritation than good for sensitive skin types. The whole "detox" marketing sounds pretty questionable when you look at the actual science behind it.

Completely agree, I've seen the same thing happen with a few clients here in Portland. The marketing is way ahead of the actual safety data on those masks.
