PSA: Stop over-scrubbing during extractions

I used to press so hard I'd bruise clients for days. A mentor in Austin told me a 30-second gentle glide is way more effective than 5 minutes of digging and reduces redness by half. Anyone else have a lightbulb moment on this?

Used to be a hard believer in really digging in there, thought that was the only way to get everything out. Then I watched a video of a top esthetician doing a full extraction on a model with basically zero pressure and it blew my mind. Tried it on my next clay mask client and her skin was barely pink when I was done, totally different result than my usual angry red mess. Made me realize all that force was actually pushing congestion deeper instead of lifting it out. Now I tell anyone who will listen to trust the product and the glide, not their elbow grease.

Does that light touch actually get out deep blackheads though or does it just work better on surface stuff? I've been scared to try less pressure cause im sure im just gonna leave half the gunk in there.
