I finally caved and bought a proper steamer for my treatment room
It was about $350, but the consistent, even heat has cut my facial steaming time in half. Anyone have tips on keeping the mineral buildup under control in hard water areas?

Vinegar works but the smell is awful... I use those citric acid powder packets made for coffee machines. Run a cycle with a tablespoon of that once a week. It keeps the scale from getting a real grip.

Yeah, @avery921 is onto something with the citric acid. Vinegar just leaves that weird smell in the machine, you know? That powder trick is a solid move for regular upkeep.

Hard water is the worst. I mean, maybe it's just me but I use distilled water in mine, it's a bit extra but it basically stops the buildup from even starting.
