Heard a client say 'my skin is just bad' and it stuck with me
I was cleaning up my station last week and overheard a new client in the waiting area tell her friend, 'I'm just here because my skin is bad, I guess.' She sounded so defeated. It made me think about how we talk about skin. I've been trying to shift my own language during consults for about six months now, avoiding words like 'problem' or 'fixing'. Instead, I say things like 'let's work on supporting your skin's balance'. Has anyone else changed how they talk to clients about their skin goals?

Ever think that language, like @barnes.brian's dentist, just gives our skin a complex?

My dentist stopped saying "cavity" and calls them "soft spots" now, and it honestly makes the whole visit less stressful. That language shift you're doing is probably way more meaningful for clients than we realize.
